Dr Meera Rajah
MBBSc MRCGP MEd MRCEM DRCOG DFSRH DCH AFMCP
Hi, I am Dr Meera Rajah, working NHS GP , for over 10 years and GP partner for 8 years where I have developed my interest in women’s health and dermatoscopy. Following qualifying from Imperial College London, I have always been interested in acute medical care so I still do surprisingly enjoy a busy triage session as a NHS GP! With worrying data such as obesity doubling since 1990 and the prevalence of cancer increasing every year, we really do need to look at the root causes of illness and symptomatology.

Dr. Nicki Gill
MBChB MRCGP AFMCP
Hi there! I’m Dr. Nicki Gill, and I’m thrilled to welcome you to our functional medicine practice. With several years of experience as an NHS General Practitioner, I’ve developed a strong interest in women’s health and neurodiversity. My journey began in Warwickshire, where I trained and worked as a GP. I progressed to become Clinical Lead, overseeing several GP practices, and eventually took on leadership roles, including my position as Medical Director for urgent care and out-of-hours services in the West Midlands.

Why Take a Gut Health Test?
We believe every person's healing story is unique. That's why our process begins with a thorough intake review, followed by a 1-hour deep-dive discovery where we go over your full health history, symptoms, and goals. Based on the findings, our practitioners will put together a personalised treatment plan that will address the root causes of imbalance, rather than just the symptoms.
Our comprehensive gut microbiome testing takes into consideration the balance of good and bad bacteria, overgrowth of yeast, and the action of digestive enzymes. These results paint a clear picture of how your gut is working and where support is needed.
Your gut influences far more than digestion. It impacts immunity, hormones, and even brain function. Through gut microbiome testing, you can uncover imbalances that may cause bloating, fatigue, poor
focus, or skin issues. Understanding your gut composition helps you make smart dietary and lifestyle choices to enhance overall health.

Why Take a Heavy Metal Test?
We believe every person's healing story is unique. That's why our process begins with a thorough intake review, followed by a 1-hour deep-dive discovery where we go over your full health history, symptoms, and goals. Based on the findings, our practitioners will put together a personalised treatment plan that will address the root causes of imbalance, rather than just the symptoms.
Our heavy metal testing considers not only the presence of harmful metals but also essential mineral levels like magnesium, zinc, and selenium. By understanding both toxic load and nutrient balance, we provide a clear picture of your body's internal environment and where support is needed.
Toxic metals can affect far more than just your energy levels. They can influence immunity, hormones, digestion, and even cognitive function. Through heavy metal testing, you can uncover imbalances that may be causing fatigue, brain fog, skin issues, or mood changes. Understanding your body's toxic load helps you make smarter dietary, lifestyle, and

How the Gut Health Test Works
Our gut health test is simple and non-invasive. You will be sent a home collection kit with easy instructions for you to collect your stool sample. Once returned to our partner lab, it undergoes advanced microbial analysis.
Your comprehensive report will include a complete breakdown of your gut bacteria and any imbalances. Upon reviewing these results, our team at Functional Doctors will create a personalised plan to help restore your gut health through nutrition, supplements, and lifestyle adjustments.
The Functional Medicine Advantage
At Functional Doctors, we take a holistic approach by analysing how your gut and hormones connect to immunity and energy. By applying functional medicine principles, our practitioners get to the 'why' of your symptoms. Sometimes we recommend heavy metal testing or nutrition testing to complete a view of your body's internal balance. We combine insights on gut, nutrition, and toxin to help you get lasting results with science-backed, personalised care.
Book Your Gut Health Test
Our gut microbiome testing is available for just £356, giving you the clarity you need to heal from within.
